Introduction [Biosketch]
- Dr. Sumit Bhowmik received his B.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tripura Engineering College (now known as NIT Agartala) under Tripura University and his M.M.E. degree in Machine Design specialization from Jadavpur University. He has done his Ph.D. from Jadavpur University. He joined as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Silchar, in January 2013. He was also a faculty member at Tripura Engineering College and Asansol Engineering College. He has published more than 120 journal articles and conference papers in various reputed journals and conferences. Also, he is the author of three books and three patents. He also published a number of book chapters. Under his supervision, ten (10) research scholars and twenty (20) PG students successfully completed their research work, and three research scholars are now working under supervision. His work is also funded by the DST, CPRI, and KVIC.
